Q: What should my child wear to class?

A: Children should dress in warm, comfortable clothing with lightweight socks and gloves or mittens. Knit leggings, sweatpants, sweaters and sweatshirts are good choices. We highly recommend helmets for all children under the age of 6.

Q: What are the class procedures?

A: We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Skaters must always check in at the front desk.

Q: How will I know how my child is doing in class?

A: Our qualified professional instructors evaluate your child during class and provide each skater with progress report during the 6th week of classes. You may also talk to your child's instructor before or after class regarding your child's progress. Before the semester ends, instructors will provide each skater with an advancement letter with class recommendations for future enrollment.

Q: What if my child misses a class?

A: Participants are allowed to make up missed classes. Make-up lessons must be attended during the enrolled semester. No credit or refunds are offered for missed classes. We do not allow make-up lessons to be carried over into future semesters. To schedule a make-up class, check the current schedule for an appropriate class, then contact the front desk or the skating director.

Q: Should I buy my child his / her own skates?

A: Rental skates are included with your child's tuition and are appropriate for beginning skaters. As skaters progress, they benefit from the comfort, support and consistency of their own skates. Ask your child's professional instructor for a recommendation of skates based upon your child's level.

Q: How often should my child practice?

A: We recommend that skaters practice approximately 2 hours per week in addition to their regularly scheduled class. Skaters should practice the skills they learn in their classes.

Q: What if I have more questions?

A: You may contact your child's instructor or skating director with your questions, comments or concerns.
